Pablo Picasso terre de faience (earthenware) pitcher ''Yan Barbu'' created at the famed Madoura pottery studio in the south of France, where Picasso collaborated the last 25 years of his life and created unique, playful pieces such as this. Painted pitcher in Picasso's unmistakable style was created in 1963 in an edition of 300, numbered 109/300. Incised ''Edition Picasso'', also with both the Edition Picasso and Madoura stamps. Measures 10.375'' tall. In very good condition with a nearly imperceptible chip on outside edge of foot. Number 513 in Alan Ramie's ''Picasso, Catalogue of the Edited Ceramic Works, 1947-1971''.
