Gile Steele costume sketch from the 1940 film ''Northwest Passage''. Sketch is stated as being Spencer Tracy during a ''bear hunt'' scene. Signed ''Gile Steele'', sketch is rendered on board measuring 15'' x 20'', with fabric swatches stapled to the side. Steele would later win Academy Awards in costume design on the films ''The Heiress'' and ''Samson and Delilah''. Light toning and spotting, overall very good condition.
