Original prototype, perhaps one of a kind, of the Minolta 1 Space Meter, made for NASA so that Apollo astronauts could take photographs in space. Specially designed to reflect solar rays, meter was used by the astronauts to accurately gauge exposure time for the photographs. The actual meter made from this prototype was first used on the Apollo 8 mission in 1968. Meter measures approximately 4'' wide x 6.75'' tall x 6.25'' deep. Reads on front, ''P/N SEB 331000104 - 201 S/N'' with no serial number engraved, per its prototype status. Accompanied by a letter signed by the Co-Chair of the International Photography Hall of Fame Board of Directors, stating that this prototype Meter was gifted by the Minolta Corporation. Light wear and small bend to front left. Very good condition.
