Original Mathew Brady silver gelatin photograph of General Sheridan and His Staff, taken in 1864 with the General standing on porch steps, holding his officer's sword. At this time, Sheridan had been recruited by Ulysses S. Grant to serve as head of Cavalry for the Army of the Potomac in the East. Photo measures 8.125'' x 6.5'', mounted to Brady's mat measuring approximately 8.5'' x 7''. Framed to 13.25'' x 11.5''. Not examined out of frame. Some uniform toning, but photo remains richly contrasted. Very good plus condition.
