Original Hal Foster lot of preliminary artwork for the ''Prince Valiant'' comic strip, #1790 in the series. Set of two pencil sketches were for the strip published on 30 May 1971, hand-drawn by Foster as the strip transitioned from Foster to John Cullen Murphy. In addition to the sketch for the strip, Foster also draws a the large ship that appears in this strip. A typed story outline, and separate typed story narration are also included. Three sheets each measure 8.5'' x 11'', with the sketch of the ship appearing on the verso of the typed narration. Three hole punch, and light creasing, overall in very good condition.
