Original ransom note for the kidnapping of Frank Sinatra's son, sent to Peter Lawford by the perpetrators just after the kidnapping. This note was discussed in the book by James Spada, ''Peter Lawford The Man Who Kept the Secrets'', on page 354, and sent after the kidnapping, but received by Lawford already after Sinatra paid the ransom, was reunited with his son, and the kidnappers were apprehended. The note was therefore kept in the files of Chrislaw Productions, Lawford's company co-owned with Milt Ebbins, and thence from the Ebbins estate auctioned by John McInnis Auctioneers in November 2013. Undated ransom note, full of errors, reads in full, ''Mr. Sinarta [sic], your son is allright [sic] you will get him back if you cooperate. The Price is $200,000 in 5, 10, 20''s. Mr Lawford is to delivere [sic] the money. Tonight he must be at Venice Blvd, (In Venice Calif) at the end of it parked next to phone booth in front of Lifeguard or Coast Guard Sta. at 12:00 P.M. Dec. 11 at Nite and has money with him he will be instructed from there. This note must be with money. Mr. Lawfrod [sic], call Mr. Lawford [crossed out] call Mr. Sinatra at Mapas Hotel in Reno. Tell him to call you back on untaped [sic] phone. Tell him to play it cool because we have a in spy. So if he don't [sic] cooperate Jr. gets a 45 slug in his head.'' Two page letter on single sheet measures 5'' x 8''. Light creasing, else near fine.
