Original typed draft of golden age actress Mary Astor's memoir, perhaps an earlier draft as it's considerably longer than the final book. This draft was likely sent out by Astor's literary agent, Gloria Safier, prior to the book's 1959 publication by Doubleday under the title ''My Story: an Autobiography.'' Upon its release, the confessional memoir was a bestseller. Draft comes bound with a pair of brads and covered with a soft blue paper cover. Safier's mailing label is affixed to cover and is printed with the address of her New York office on Madison Avenue. Astor's name and ''Autobiography'' is typed on the label's center. Draft runs 508pp. and measures 8.5'' x 11''. Cover and first 4 sheets are completely detached from binding. Toning, some chipping, and fading to print on very delicate leaves. Creasing, tears and tape to cover. The first three pages show heavy chipping and are partially conjoined by adhesive, else very good.
