Original animation cel from Disney's 1938 short ''Ferdinand the Bull'', featuring Ferdinand as a young calf delighted by a butterfly. A beloved Christmas film about a bull that refuses to fight, ''Ferdinand the Bull'' won the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film in 1938. On a Courvoisier background with partial paper overlay, and with Disney and Courvoisier labels on verso of mat confirming that the celluloid was used in the film. Cel measures 7.25'' square, and Disney mat measures 14'' x 15''. Slight discoloration to background and butterfly is present but detached, otherwise near fine condition.
