Movie poster for the 1965 Andy Warhol film ''My Hustler'', the first Warhol film to make a profit, but also one reviled at the time for its depictions of homosexuality. Window card poster advertises the film's theatrical release in April 1966 at the Film-Makers' Cinematheque, the venue founded by avant-garde filmmaker Jonas Mekas, who was served a summons to defend why the theater was showing Warhol's film. Considered mild by modern standards, the film was exhibited throughout the late 1960s in New York, contributing to the gay rights movement at the time. Poster measures 14'' x 22'', printed by Murray Poster Printing Co. Inc. In exceptional, near fine condition showing vivid colors, ideal for display.
