Millard Fillmore free frank signature, penned as Vice President, possibly just hours before Fillmore became President. Postmarked from Buffalo, New York on 10 July, Fillmore signs at upper right, ''Free / M. Fillmore / V.P.'' 10 July 1850 is the day that Fillmore was sworn in as President, following the death of President Zachary Taylor the day before. As Fillmore signs as Vice President, the year has to be either 1849 or 1850. Holograph cover measures approximately 4.675'' x 2.875''. Front sheet of cover only, cut from rest of envelope. Uniform toning and trimmed edges, overall in very good condition.
