Luminary actor Mickey Rooney Academy Award nomination for best supporting actor for his role in the 1979 film, ''The Black Stallion''. Certificate is signed and inscribed by Rooney to his wife Jan in black ink, ''Thank you Jan / For all your help, Love / your husband, me Mickey / Mickey Rooney''. Rooney played the memorable character ''Henry Dailey'', a retired horse jockey in the successful film. Certificate features an illustration of the iconic Oscar statue and reads in full: ''Certificate of Nomination for Award / Be it known that / Mickey Rooney / was nominated for an Academy of merit for outstanding achievement / Best Actor in a Supporting Role in 'Black Stallion / This judgment being rendered with reference to Motion Pictures / first regularly exhibited in the Los Angeles district / during the year ending December 31, 1979.''
