Academy Award-winning actress Mary Astor autograph letter signed, dated 18 January 1968. Upon her personal stationery bearing her Malibu address, Astor writes to her agent Gloria Safier in New York. Here, Astor writes of her decision to abandon a story idea about a clairvoyant. She then mentions edits on her upcoming book, ''A Place Called Saturday''. Letter reads in part: ''...I've given up the ESP idea...I sent the corrected pages to Ross -- I think the episode works, now. I've been sitting in front of a typewriter recently, you'll be interested to know I think I have an idea. Don't hold your breath, it might be only an idea...'' Signed ''Mary'', letter on one page measures 8.5'' x 11'' with Safier's typed response paper-clipped to top. Very good condition.
