Malcolm X autograph note signed from Kenya in October 1964. Malcolm X writes to Gloria Owens, ''Greetings from another rich and beautiful country here on the Mother Continent. Malcolm X''. After his split with the Nation of Islam (NOI) in March 1964, Malcolm X toured the Middle East and Africa, returning to the United States in November 1964. He would be killed 4 months after writing this postcard, in February 1965, purportedly by NOI members. In fact, Gloria Owens' brother, Maceo X was the secretary of the Islamic temple in New York City to which Malcolm X had formerly been Minister. It was likely Maceo who told Malcolm X shortly before he left the NOI that its leaders asked Maceo to plant a bomb in Malcolm X's car. Postcard measures 5.5'' x 3.5''. Near fine condition with bold handwriting.
