Malcolm X autograph letter signed from New York City, postmarked 22 October 1958. Malcolm X writes to Gloria Owens, sister of Maceo X Owens, a prominent Nation of Islam member in New York. He writes, ''Greetings from the world's largest city. Happy you were able to hear The Messenger. Malcolm X''. The Messenger refers to Elijah Muhammad, then leader of the National of Islam and mentor to Malcolm X. At this time, Malcolm X was promoting the Nation of Islam throughout the country; it wouldn't be until 1964 that he broke with the organization. Postcard measures 5.5'' x 3.5''. Very good condition.
