First edition, fourth printing, with original dustjacket. Boldly signed in ink on the fly-leaf: ''To Wyman D. Campbell - with best wishes, Lyndon B. Johnson.'' ''The Professional'' is considered a uniquely personal analysis of the President's career by a respected Washington columnist and longtime Johnson confidante. Included in the lot is a typed letter from the chairman of the Democratic National Committee on official letterhead, gifting the signed book. Book runs 273pp. and measures 6'' x 8.5''. Bound in red-orange cloth boards with gilt lettering. Near fine. Unclipped $5.00 dustjacket is in very good condition save for staining, especially to the front panel, and chipping.
