Scarce Rock and Roll Hall of Fame award, presented to Louis Jordan posthumously, and accepted by his wife Martha Jordan. Appealing to black and white audiences alike during a segregated era, swing musician, songwriter and bandleader Louis Jordan was the fifth most successful black recording artist of all time, and duetted with artists Bing Crosby, Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong. Award sits on a 4'' x 4'' black marble base, with a 10'' statuette in black lifting her arms up. Plaque on front reads ''Louis Jordan / The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 1987''. Award originally had statuette holding a gold record, but record is not included. Overall in very good plus condition. From the Louis Jordan estate.
