Lot of two photos taken by David F. Barry, the western photographer whose portraits of the Lakota people earned him the nickname ''Little Shadow Catcher'' by the tribe. First photo, from 1915, shows Chippewa Chief Andrew Blackbird, the historian who wrote ''History of the Ottawa and Chippewa Indians of Michigan''. Second photo shows Barry with Indian Agent James McLaughlin, a controversial figure who gave the order to arrest Sitting Bull. Each silver gelatin photo measures 4'' x 6''. Mounted to black construction paper and light handling wear, overall very good.
