Lot of two silver gelatin photos taken by David F. Barry, the western photographer whose portraits of the Lakota people earned him the nickname ''Little Shadow Catcher'' by the tribe. First photo shows the Lakota Warrior Chief John Grass Charging Bear. Measures 6.875'' x 8.675'', with Barry's embossed copyright to lower right. Photo is mounted to black construction paper, on the verso of which is the second photo of Curley, General George Custer's scout who was with him at the Battle of Little Bighorn. Measures 6.5'' x 8.5''. With Barry's copyright stamps to lower right margin. Light silvering and handling wear, overall very good.
