Lot of two Egyptology documents from 1902 and 1903 concerning a house built on an ancient mound on Elephantine Island in Aswan, Upper Egypt. Both documents, on Egyptian Government watermarked stationery, concern the transfer of the land to the Egyptian Antiquities Service, and reference Howard Carter, who was then the Inspector of Monuments for Upper Egypt within the EAS. First document, dated 21 December 1902, measures 7.125'' x 9'', and second document, dated 16 April 1903, measures 6.75'' x 8.375''. Light uniform toning, small holes, and wear, overall very good condition. With translations from the original French.
