Lot of three slavery registration documents from 1824-27, with disturbing specificity regarding ownership of the individuals. Lot includes:

1) Handwritten document from the Slave Registry Department of Cape Town, South Africa dated 11 December 1824, stating that ''The female slave named Mina, the property of Mr Hendrik Daniel Vas, Ian Hendrik's son, does not appear to be mortgaged, in the books of this department...'' Measures 8'' x 5''. Creasing and split starting along fold line, overall very good.

2) Partially-printed document from the Office for the Enregisterment of Slaves in Cape Town, South Africa dated 31 March 1825, stating that ''a male infant named Fritz born on the 11th March 1825 whose mother is named Selphie...has been duly registered at this Office, as the property of Egbertus Bergh...'' Measures 7.375'' x 4.125''. Creasing, fold and light wear, overall very good.

3) Partially-printed document from the Slave Registry Office of Cape Town, South Africa 7 September 1827, registering ''a male infant named Sam born on the 1st July 1827 whose mother is named Rachel...has been duly registered at this office, as the Property of [a widow]...'' Measures 8.5'' x 4.625''. Fold and creasing, overall very good.
