Lot of four photos taken by David F. Barry, the western photographer famous for his portraits of the Lakota people and of U.S. federal agents and military officers of the Frontier Wars. Photos depict General George Armstrong Custer and three of his closest confidants. Photo of Custer in military uniform measures 5'' x 7'', with Barry's copyright stamp at lower right. Affixed to black construction paper along with the portrait of Custer's wife, Elizabeth, which measures 4.25'' x 5.875''. On the verso appear photos of Custer's scout, Charles Reynolds, who died with Custer at Little Bighorn; photo measures 5'' x 7'' with Barry's copyright stamp at lower right. Last photo is of the trumpeter John Martin, who delivered Custer's last order just before the General and his Cavalry descended the ravine to the Little Bighorn river; photo measures 4.375'' x 6.25''. Some silvering and minor discoloration, overall very good.
