Lot of 8 signed photos given by Dick Scobee to his family. Includes: (1-2) Two 8'' x 10'' photos signed by all 35 Group Eight astronauts, selected in January, 1978. One photo is inscribed to Dick Scobee's brother Jim with ''From the Thirty Five 'New Guys''' written on top. Scobee signs this photo ''Xcobee'' under his image. The other photo is uninscribed, likely for Scobee's parents and signed by Scobee ''XX''. Both photos are signed by all 34 other astronauts, the first new group of NASA astronauts since 1969. Of these 35, four would perish in the Challenger disaster, Dick Scobee, Ron McNair, Ellison Onizuka and Judith Resnick. A few signatures faded on each photo. Abrasion at top of Jim's photo, very good; other photo is near fine. (3-5) Three 8'' x 10'' photos signed by Dick Scobee, one a NASA portrait photo of Scobee. Photo of Space Shuttle Enterprise is not on photo paper, else near fine. (6-7) Two 10'' x 8'' photos of the STS-41-C mission, signed by all 5 crewmembers. Hart's name is smudged on one photo, Crippen and Scobee's signatures faded on other photo, else near fine. (8) 10'' x 8'' photo of a Boeing 747 related to the Advanced Airborne Command Post System, signed by Scobee and four other individuals. Very good. With an LOA from Scobee's brother.
