Dwight Eisenhower signs ''D.E.'' as President to a letter typed on White House stationery dated 26 June 1957 to his brother Edgar, who recommends someone for appointment to the FCC. Dwight responds, ''...he is most competent in the field of communications law. The difficulty is that because of this competence, he has represented...so many of the communications firms that in most cases that come before the FCC he would have to disqualify himself from making decisions...''
