He responds to his brother Edgar's inquiry of his availability for a speaking engagement, writing, ''...I haven't the slightest idea whether I can address the...Rotary International in June of 1956...[Rotary director] Mr. Hickman can write to Mr. Bernard Shanley, who has charge of arranging my schedules...'' A copy of Edgar's letter is included. White House letter measures 7'' x 10.25''. Folds and punch holes for filing, else near fine.
