Dwight Eisenhower signs: ''D.E.'' in thick black ink to a typed letter on White House stationery datelined Denver, Colorado, 19 October 1955, less than a month after a major heart attack, to his brother Edgar. In part, ''Of course we would like to have the daffodils...Thanks for your suggestion as to the type of person to replace [resigning IRS Commissioner] Coleman Andrews. I have passed it along to the proper people...'' A copy of Edgar's letter is included. 6.75'' x 9''. Light fold and punch holes, else near fine.
