Dwight D. Eisenhower typed letter signed as President, dated 7 May 1953 on White House stationery. Here, Eisenhower writes to his brother Edgar discussing controversy over a Navy acoustic range in the Pacific Northwest: ''...Carr Inlet is the only place available where the Navy can establish its very necessary Range...It is always disappointing when one of these public projects has to cut across the interests...of private citizens...'' Letter measures 8'' x 10.5'' on two pages, with two holes punched and staple holes, else near fine.
