Dwight D. Eisenhower typed letter signed as President, dated 11 May 1953 on official White House stationery. Here, Eisenhower writes to his brother Edgar discussing his family heritage and taking a playful jibe at him: ''...I am engaged in preparing a very abbreviated chart...on our immediate family in the Eisenhower tribe...the date of birth will be shown, with principal occupation -- in your case the word 'Lawyer'...'' Signed ''D.E.'' Letter measures 7'' x 10.5'' on one page with two holes punched at top. Minor folds, else fine.
