Dwight Eisenhower typed letter signed as President, dated 30 November 1957, on White House stationery, from the President's beloved Gettysburg, Pennsylvania home. Addressed to lawyer brother Edgar Eisenhower, letter reads in part: ''...Thank you for your letter and your advice. I am not, however, quite as jaundiced about the American people as you seem to imply you are; on the contrary my faith in them is one of my greatest strengths...'' Signed ''D.E.'' One page letter, measuring 7'' x 10.25'', has folds from mailing and two punched holes at top. Near fine.
