Dwight Eisenhower typed letter twice-signed, dated 30 June 1962, on personal ''DDE'' letterhead. Letter, written to brother Edgar, discusses Eisenhower's involvement with the National Republican Citizens Committee and reads in part: ''...I regard this as a very significant development and one that I believe holds great promise for the future of our Party. I have agreed to become a member and Honorary Chairman of this Committee and to help in its work so far as I can. I hope you will become a Sustaining Member and as active as possible in its program. I shall be more than delighted if you will join me in this great effort...'' Signed ''Ike'' and again ''D.'' following autograph postscript reading: ''I've signed a lot of these letters because I'm so intent on getting Republicans in control of the House of Representatives. However, if the project does not appeal to you, I shall not be upset if you throw this in the trash heap.''
