Large lot of 62 original Project Mercury photos. Sixty-two black and white NASA photos of John Glenn in various phases of his historic orbit of the Earth on 20 February 1962 in Mercury Capsule No. 6 (Friendship 7) are captured here. In the space race with the Soviets, this first U.S. human Earth orbit was a crucial milestone. Minor creasing and rippling to 8'' x 10'' glossy publicity photos with NASA backstamps. Lot includes 9.5'' x 12'' U.S. Navy envelope postmarked in London on 28 May 1962. Overall in very good condition.
