Original press release by the Kennedy Administration, dated 27 October 1962 during the Cuban Missile Crisis. In a letter to Nikita Khrushchev, Kennedy refers to Khrushchev's letter of 26 October: '' You would agree to remove these weapons systems from Cuba...and undertake...to halt the further introduction of such weapons.'' In return, Kennedy pledges to remove a quarantine and not invade Cuba. Document measures 8.5'' x 14''. In very good condition with a staple mark, folds and small margin stain.
