Carl Jung autograph letter signed, composed in fountain pen on 2 January 1948, thanking his mentee, the psychoanalyst Dr. Rivkah Scharf Kluger, for a Christmas present. Translated from German, letter reads in full, ''Dear Miss! / Thank you very much for your surprising Christmas gift! It met with the appropriate approval. / I was very sorry that you spoiled Christmas for yourself with your stroke of genius. I suppose you were trying to still catch the Leviathan as well, given that you were already in the whale's belly. / I am slowly recovering here, and my sleep is gradually improving. The tranquility is good for me, and [sic] I would welcome better weather. / Meanwhile, many thanks and all the best for the New Year! / Your faithful / C.G. Jung''. Single page letter measures 8.625'' x 10.75''. Folds, overall near fine condition. Accompanied by Jung's original mailing envelope addressed in his hand.
