Rare Charlie Chaplin signed photograph as The Tramp, in a still from the silent film classic ''The Circus''. Sepia photograph measures 7'' x 9'', signed by Chaplin in black fountain pen, ''To my friend / Sir Adrian Baillie / from Charlie Chaplin / Los Angeles, / Cal. / Sept 24th 1927''. The recipient, Sir Adrian Baillie, was a British Member of Parliament and reported film buff who hosted parties attended by the royal families of England and Europe, and also by cinema stars. Chaplin inscribed this photo to him approximately four months before the film's premiere. Encapsulated by PSA/DNA, which confirms the photo as Type I and verifies the signature as authentic. Measures 9.625'' x 13.125'' as encapsulated. Minor creasing and toning, overall very good condition.
