Edward S. Curtis orotone photograph of ''Prayer to the Stars'' in original Curtis studio frame with labels on verso. Plate measures 8'' x 10'', signed by Curtis in the negative, framed to a size of 10.625'' x 12.625''. The negative of this photograph was produced in 1908, subsequently published in ''The Flute of the Gods'' by Marah Ellis Ryan, page 129. It's considered Curtis' most spectacular orotone, with a Native American man raising his hands to the black night sky, contrasted against the gold tint. An excellent example of the photograph, in near fine condition.
