Retained copy of the letter to James Dean from his agent Jane Deacy. Dated 19 August 1955, Deacy updates Dean about various roles, and informs him that he didn't get a part in the film ''Our Town'', which went to Paul Newman instead. Letter reads in part, ''...I was terribly disappointed that you were not able to do the boy in 'Our Town'. I might add that I flipped when I heard that Paul Newman was going to do it...Love and kisses, / Jane Deacy.'' Single sheet measures 8.5'' x 11''. Toning and chipping to edges, overall very good condition. From the estate of James Dean's agent, Jane Deacy.
