Original Hal Foster preliminary artwork for the ''Prince Valiant'' comic strip, #1954 in the series. Pencil sketch was for the strip published on 21 July 1974, hand-drawn by Foster as the strip transitioned from Foster to John Cullen Murphy. Lot also includes a typed story outline, and separate typed story narration. Sketch and story outline each measures 8.5'' x 11''; story narration measure 8'' x 10.5''. Three hole punch, paperclip impression at top, and red pen on sketch. Overall in very good condition. From the John Cullen Murphy estate.
