Original Hal Foster lot of preliminary artwork for the ''Prince Valiant'' comic strip, #1950 in the series. Set of two pencil sketches were for the strip published on 23 June 1974, hand-drawn by Foster as the strip transitioned from Foster to John Cullen Murphy. Foster sketches the draft for panels 1-3 on one sheet, and then a larger draft of panels 4-8 on a separate sheet. A typed story outline, and separate typed story narration are also included. Sketch sheets measure 8.5'' x 11'' and 8.5'' x 9.5''; typed pages measure 8'' x 10.5''. Three hole punch, some soiling, paperclip impression at top, and red pen to margin. Overall in very good condition. From the John Cullen Murphy estate.
