Original Hal Foster preliminary artwork for the ''Prince Valiant'' comic strip, #1911 in the series. Pencil sketch was for the strip published on 23 September 1973, hand-drawn by Foster as the strip transitioned from Foster to John Cullen Murphy. Lot also includes a typed story outline, and separate typed story narration. Sketch measures 8.5'' x 11''; typed pages measure 8'' x 10.5''. Three hole punch, light soiling, and paperclip impression at top. Writing in red pen to margin sketch. Overall in very good condition. From the John Cullen Murphy estate.
