Hunter S. Thompson postcard of Big Sur signed ''HST'' in type, where he extols the beauty of Big Sur and draws an arrow on the photo, indicating where he stayed on the coast. Postmarked 8 November 1960, Thompson writes to his friend Paul Semonin calling him ''Weed'', referencing an editorial titled ''Weeds'' about the 1960 Presidential election written by Semonin. Letter reads in part, ''...Just finished week in house below arrow (over). Big Sur makes Colo. look like Moe Mountain. It's like being in another country. Greenwich Village by the sea, cut of by mountains from the outside world...HST''. Postcard measures 5.5'' x 3.5''. Very good condition.
