Stan Laurel typed letter signed, with interesting content regarding his life in retirement. Dated 29 March 1963, Laurel writes to his pen-pal friend Bill Brown, in part, ''...Yes I've met Dick Van Dyke, he visited with me sometime ago when he first came out here to start his series, he's a very nice person - very talented. You mention my taking a dip in the ocean - thought I told you I very seldom go outdoors, only once in a while to visit the Dr. - maybe once in two or three months, I would'nt go swimming if I were able - I like to be ON the water not IN it - I saw the Marilyn Monroe biography just the other evening...Re Color TV. I know nothing about them, only know how to turn them ON turn to the channel you want & turn it OFF, I never even have seen a Color TV - am perfectly satisfied with Black & White...Am enclosing you the only picture I have of the Ocean view from my window [included] - BELIEVE IT OR NOT!! / Re the election, am not too familiar with either Party...[signed] Stan Laurel''. Letter measures 5.5'' x 8.5'', with 5.75'' x 3'' photo of whales included, as well as original mailing envelope. Very good condition.
