Lot of artwork created by James Pearsall, most famous for his moody, art deco inspired ''Chinatown'' poster design. Lot includes (1) ''Chinatown'' one sheet, measuring 27'' x 41'', signed by James Pearsall, in its original mailing tube from National Screen Service. Chipping, creasing and a few areas where tape was affixed. Flaws are mostly confined to margins, overall in good condition. (2) Original watercolor of Joseph McCarthy, done for the 1964 documentary ''Point of Order'', considered the first modern political documentary, and one of the films chosen for preservation in the National Film Registry. Clever concept art shows McCarthy with his arms poised at 90 degree angles, evoking a type of fascist symbol. Pearsall inscribes the artwork in pencil at lower right, ''To my Favorite Pinko - Kennie from Jimmy''. Visible portion of artwork measures 23'' x 18'', framed to 28.75'' x 24.25''. Minor soiling, creasing and dampstaining. Overall very good condition. (3) Original artwork on illustration board, circa late 1970s for The Cinemerica Premium Network, an early pay-TV station. Artwork promises ''No Commercials'' and ''Coming Soon to Your T.V. Set!''. Measures 20'' x 25''. Minor wear and dampstaining, largely confined to margins, otherwise very good plus condition.
