Stan Laurel typed letter signed ''Stan Laurel'' upon his blue custom stationery. Dated 15 January 1963, Laurel writes to his pen-pal friend Bill Brown, answering a bunch of Hollywood related questions. In part, ''...Yes the passing of Lawton, Mitchell, Powell & Carson was a great loss to Hollywood - strange all from the same cause. / Interesting to have seen Bert Wheeler's interview on TV. I wish him lots of success with his Broadway Show. / Have no idea when the cartoon series will be released - frankly do'nt know much about them - as I told you our connection is only on a 'Royalty' basis...Lionel Barrymore I believe directed some of the re-takes & added scences [sic] on 'The Rogue Song', but I do'nt think he directed the entire production...To my knowledge, Frank Capra was never at the Hal Roach studio in any capacity...No, Bert Roach the comic was not related to Hal Roach the producer...[signed] Stan Laurel''. Single page letter measures 8'' x 10''. Folds, including one through signature, and light wear, otherwise near fine condition. With original mailing envelope.
