Charles Lindbergh signed copy of ''The Spirit of St. Louis''. New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1953, Book of the Month Club edition. Lindbergh inscribes the book to Harry Elmer Barnes, the controversial Columbia University professor whose late-career Holocaust denial writings would discredit his legacy by the end of his life. Lindbergh inscribes the title page, ''To Harry Elmer Barnes / With best wishes from / Charles A. Lindbergh''. Lindbergh won the Pulitzer Prize for this book, an account of his successful attempt of the New York - Paris flight that had claimed the lives of six pilots before him. Runs 562pp. Bound in blue cloth boards with silver lettering, book measures 5.75'' x 8.5''. Book has library stamps, toning to first few sheets from newspaper clipping and some moisture damage to page edges and middle section; overall good condition. Dust jacket has light chipping to margins, overall very good plus condition.
