New York: Virtue & Yorston, 1871, published by subscription. 446pp. book features dozens of engravings and illustrations of George Washington and Mt. Vernon, including a tissued frontispiece engraving of the first President. Book covers everything from Washington's boyhood at Mt. Vernon to the grounds and architecture, to the books in his library. Bound in brown cloth boards, with front board nearly detached, and some loss to backstrip. Interior pages lightly toned but clean. Overall fair condition.
