First edition, first printing of ''Light in August'' by William Faulkner with scarce first printing dust jacket. New York: Harrison Smith & Robert Haas, 1932. With first printing point ''Jefferson'' instead of ''Mottstown'' in the first line on page 340. Bound in publisher's original beige buckram lettered in orange on the upper cover and in blue on the spine. Measures 5.75'' x 8.25''. In near fine condition with light shelf wear and block of toning on front free endpaper, showing the shadow of a previous owner's name. Dust jacket is very good to near fine with expected chipping and light soiling. Price of $2.50 is intact, and listing of ''Boyle, Kay'' as the first author on the back cover is present, as called for in the first printing.
