First edition of James Fenimore Cooper's, ''Last of the Mohicans''. Philadelphia: H.C. Carey & I. Lea, 1826. Two volumes bound into one leather book, with all first printing points present: In volume I, pagination present on page 71, page 89 mis-numbered 93, chapter XVI mis-numbered XIV; in volume II, state A of the copyright notice reading ''a Book''. This copy has the final ''i'' present on page vii in volume I; some first printings have the ''i'' dropped and the sequence hasn't been determined. A binding error exists in this copy, with pages 197-208 of volume II inserted at page 36 in volume I. Overall in very good condition considering age, with cracking to spine, hinges starting, some dampstainig and a few bottom tears.
