Louis Jordan handwritten notes, of a very political nature and likely draft lyrics to a song. Written on sheet music to Burt Bacharach's song ''What The World Needs Now Is Love'', Jordan writes circa late 1960's or early 1970's based on content. Titled ''The World'', Jordan writes in part (with sporadic spelling errors not corrected), ''7 Major Problems - campus demonstrations / workers on strike / war / sit in hang up hang out / black rebellion / poverty / people ar starving in the rickest land in the world everybody wants more money / People...going to the moon we haven't got the earth straighten out yet...we got sit ins sit downs hang up hangouts / campus demonstrations and all kinds of allegation / Black rebellion white rebellion and even the women ar rebelling...'' With more content on pollution, worker's strikes and the war in Vietnam. On the last page of the sheet music, Jordan writes what appears to be a chorus in B6, ''We got to get together...to keep this world alive / theirs no other place we know off that we can all survive / get together / get together / we got to get our love together / to keep this world alive...'' Notes appear on two pages of the sheet music measuring 9'' x 12''. Light wear, toning and small stain to back page. Overall very good condition. From the Louis Jordan estate.
