Lord Stanley's 1933 invitation to a reception for the King of Iraq, held by the Corporation of the City of London. Blue card has a diagonal red stripe, referencing the Union Jack, and a raised London coat of arms. Partially-printed card is stamped ''No. 97'' and reads: ''RECEPTION OF HIS MAJESTY THE KING OF IRAQ BY THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF LONDON, AT GUILDHALL, On Wednesday, the 21st of June, 1933. Admit The Lord Stanley M.C., M.P.'' Lord Stanley was a British Conservative politician who briefly served as the Secretary of State for Dominion affairs before his death in 1938. Measures 6'' x 4.5''. In very good condition with creasing and light wear.
