Rare, oversized albumen photograph displaying the portraits of ''United States Senators, Who attended the Funeral of General Grant, and rode in close carriages.'' Large sepia toned albumen photo measuring 12.25'' x 8.75'' is affixed to a larger board measuring 17.25'' x 14.75'' and features the following Senators: William Frye of Maine, John Sherman of Ohio, George Edmonds of Vermont, Zebulon Vance of North Carolina, George Vest of Missouri, Daniel Voorhees of Indiana, Henry Dawes of Massachusetts, Justin Morrill of Vermont, Eugene Hale of Maine, James Beck of Kentucky, Eli Saulsbury of Delaware, Charles Jones of Florida, James Fair of Nevada, John Ingalls of Kansas, William Mahone of Virginia, Richard Coke of Texas, Henry Teller of Colorado, W.C. Walthall of Mississippi, Dwight Sabin of Minnesota and George Gray of Delaware. With photographer's imprint to lower right: ''Copyright 1886 by the U.S. Inst. Photo Co. / 56''. Also, on verso is another large albumen photo advertising inventions made under ''The Wheeler Patents''. Photograph of Senators has very light soiling, otherwise in near fine condition. The board to which it's attached has light buckling and soiling, overall in very good condition.
