Early gold medal from the Sheffield-Hallamshire Football Association Challenge Cup, awarded to star player Ernest Needham in 1923-24. Medal features the crest of the Association, a county-level division of the Football Assocation. Reverse is engraved with Needham's name, ''E.G. Needham'' along with the date and gold hallmarks, all surrounded by a decorative scrolling design along the border. Accompanied by the original case from Fattorini. 9kt gold medal measures 1'' in diameter. Weighs 18 grams. Near fine.
